I'm lucky enough to get some quality time with Baby Singe this week. Mrs. Lessinges is in Paris for work and we're trying new things back on the homefront.
Sunday we spent some time at our local outdoor shopping area. I thought it would be fun to get Anna's feet wet. The sun was shining so why not? She had so much fun not only playing, but watching the older kids get all wet.
It's very apparent to me she's ready to take the plunge in a pool. I can't wait to see her first reaction. It's the "firsts" in her life which are so very cool. It's a true treat to watch a person learn. I know I haven't stopped learning, but somedays I wander if I learn anything at all.
Today's lesson: don't procrastinate when it comes to adding an extended warranty to a laptop.
Tomorrow's new experience: first official run in the jogging stroller. Enough with walking, Memorial Day is all about running.

Firsts are very cool. It never seems to matter how old they are. My nephew had his first sex talk at school. That was very exciting.
Having a baby has made me ‘learn’ all over again. I’m pretty sure I had stagnated and just sunk into a boring routine of not actively amassing new knowledge until Aaron was born. Now its “OMG, I don’t know. I’ll have to find out” every day.
Oh, I love the jogging strollers! They’re amazing!
Take lots of baby pictures for her first time in the pool! It’s always so funny to see their little faces when they react to the water 🙂

Hitting the track, huh? How far do you think you’re gonna go – have you been running sans stroller? And definitely be ready to take pics of the first swim~
I think that is why I love having kids so much. You get to relive all the stuff again and you get to remember all the things you have forgotten. I am in awe of all the things my kids teach me and make me remember. It really is the best thing in the world.

Procrastination must be in season now. Must complete paperwork. Must pay taxes,. Must have another drink.
How about that weather this weekend huh? Pretty good. Great for a stroller jog, I say.
My daughters loved the jogging stroller. They’d usually fall asleep at some point, they got so relaxed.
I am always impressed with those who can run with jogging strollers. Although I was secretly happy to pass a man with one at my (first! ever!) 10K on Saturday.

I can’t run. Bad on my knees. I bicycle. I want one of those trailers for my daughter. The one where she’s in a little tent attached to my rear axle. I don’t trust the little plastic bike seat. If I crash, that could be catastrophic.
Chris – firsts are fun, no matter how old (or young) we are.
Ms. Chica – oh, a first sex talk. I think mine happened in sixth grade. I was a bit of a late bloomer. How old is your nephew? There’s no “uh-oh” post yet. I did miss the warranty, but the Apple store was kind enough to do a complimentary service. I knew I should have upgraded at the point of sale.
Amanda – it’s so true that seeing the world through a kid’s eyes give you a unique perspective on things. It’s like having permanent out-of-towns guests staying with you.
EmmaEnlighted – are you back online? We lost you there for a bit as you were roaming the Spanish countryside. The jogging strollers are nice, but they take some time getting used to. I learned it’s not a good idea to try to run with the front tire on pivot mode. You got to lock that puppy down.
Cheryl – so far it has been much better than the previous… shhh, I can’t complete that thought. But yeah, it’s going well.
QT – I ran for time vs. distance since it was my first time with the jogging stroller. I ran for 25 minutes and she didn’t fall asleep at all. She did get mellow and then we played in the park as her reward. I can’t run around a track. I ran down some sidestreets and along Lake Washington.
Tori – it’s a cool thing to see the world from their eyes. Not sure I’d go as far as to say it’s best thing in the world, but it’s up there for me. The run was good, but just odd not to be able to pump both arms while running. You can pack heaps of stuff on the stroller though.
Brookem – running sans stroller will seem like such a breeze after pushing the stroller. I think you got the shopping mall/fountain thing figured out.
Essentially Me – yet another reason I should seriously consider being a teacher. Hmm, all signs point to teaching.
Celeste – when she goes swimming, you will see pictures on this here blog. I can’t wait to get her submerged.
Cl̩a Рdoing taxes while drinking could be hazardous for your pocketbook. Be safe.
Sprizee – the weather was damn fine I must say. Great for frolicking in the water fountains without worrying, too much, about getting Baby Singe sunburnt.
Churlita – maybe next time. She’s so interested in new things so perhaps next time she’ll zone out.
Gwen – crikey, I have to catch up on things. I want to hear all about your 10k. So you are competitive? Running with the stroller will take some work, but I got to get out there. The pool will happen in the near future.
Sicilian Mama – her Billy Idol face isn’t so endearing, but it’s a crowd favorite. I’ve taken so many damn photos of her scowling. You’re preggers?
Think Jacob – oh man, I hear you on the bike seat vs. bike trailer. I don’t think I could ever ride with a baby bike seat mainly because kids are fidgety. The trailers are like tents on wheels and so so so much safer.
Please post some photos of Anna’s first time in the pool. I wouldn’t want to miss that.

Diane Mandy – you can bet your bottom dollar there will be pictures and video when we take her swimming. That’s the kind of stuff you can’t pass up as a parent.
Eunice – yep, I’m doing the solo thing for one more day. This time has been so much easier. Now that she’s older, it’s a bit easier for her to do some stuff on her own. Go daughter!

Carrie – learning can be fun for all. As if I need to tell you anything about learning. You’ve got plenty of that going on in your spare time.
She looks so cute in the pool, though I’ll admit that I, too, was confused by the apparently moist shopping area. Cute swimsuit! Enjoy the non-tarty styles while she still fits into them. It won’t be long. 😛

Tall Chick – I said nothing about a “moist shopping area”. That phrasing sounds very wrong indeed. I can blame Brookem for not reading the post carefully. She’s a chronic skimmer. Can you make swimsuits from scratch when the tarty suits are the only thing available?
